I've been a Registered Nurse for more than three decades, with experience in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and Labor and Delivery. Throughout my career, Iv'e had the privilege of caring for people through some of life's most joyous moments and some of it's most difficult ones. I often found myself asking a different question: What if we didn't wait until someone became sick to start taking better care of their health?
Outside of nursing, my partner Brian and I share a love of traveling, spending time on the water, and living an active life. Like many couples, we reached a point where we wanted to be more intentional about our health—not because we were facing a major illness, but because we wanted to stay healthy, energetic, and mentally sharp for years to come.
As we learned more about nutrition, lifestyle and preventive health, we noticed some of our own health markers beginning to trend in the wrong direction. Nothing alarming. Nothing that required medication. But enough to remind us that health doesn't usually change overnight—it changes gradually.
The more I learned about functional health, the more I realized our bodies are constantly communicating with us. Low energy, poor sleep, brain fog, digestive issues, stubborn weight gain, mood changes, hormonal imbalances, feeling stressed and other symptoms aren't just inconveniences to ignore—they're clues that something is out of balance.
Today, I combine over three decades of nursing experience with advanced training in functional health to help people understand their health and identify potential imbalances before they become bigger concerns. My approach combines personalized health coaching with, when appropriate, at-home functional lab testing to gain deeper insights and develop recommendations tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to help people become more proactive by identifying potential imbalances, and creating practical, personalized wellness strategies that support long-term health. You don't have to wait until your health begins to slip before taking action. Let's WakeUp and take better care of ourselves today!
And that's why I created WakeUp Wellness...
Because I believe good health is about more than avoiding disease. It's about having the energy to enjoy the activities that bring you joy, to enjoy the people you love and the life you've worked hard to build. Let's WakeUp to what our bodies are trying to tell us—and take care of them today, so we can enjoy tomorrow!
